Ms. Scott is an associate attorney in the Northern California office. She provides legal counsel and support to school districts and county boards of education in a number of areas including facilities construction, district governance, and district organization.
Legal Experience
Prior to joining the Parker & Covert team Ms. Scott worked in local and state government offices where she became familiar with various governance issues, procedures and processes. She also worked on matters related to state programs for schools and charter school issues. In addition, Ms. Scott served on the education policy committee throughout her three years of law school, helping to implement curriculum changes, overseeing administrative processes, and assisting in the review and renewal of the law school’s accreditation. Ms. Scott also participated in the Prison Law Clinic where she assisted clients with legal processes, questions, and hearings. As a research assistant to Professor Aaron Tang, Ms. Scott assisted in data collection and legal analysis for issues related to state funding to public schools and the Supreme Court’s review of cases affecting children.
