Honoring Veterans

Veterans Day

Parker & Covert LLP recognizes and honors the service and sacrifice of all military veterans for their service to our country. We are proud and grateful that two of our attorneys, Spencer Covert and Sergio Sarkany, served in the Armed Forces.

In the United States, Veterans Day is commemorated every year on November 11th in conjunction with Armistice Day, marking the armistice signed between the Allied Powers and the Central Powers for the cessation of the hostilities of World War I. The armistice took effect at eleven o'clock in the morning—the “eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month” of 1918.

Veterans Day is a day set aside to thank and honor all those who served in the military, in wartime or peacetime, living and deceased.

California is home to over 1.4 million veterans. Teachers, staff and administrators may be veterans or spouses of veterans or current servicemembers. Your students may be the son, daughter, cousin, grandchild, or other relative of a veteran or a current servicemember. Click here for a Teachers Resource Guide prepared by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. The Department also provides free posters for download.
